Colin Hugh Abbott on route to Australia January 1969.
Colin Hugh Abbott driving (steering?) the Canberra to Australia in January 1969. They should have given me a medal. I was a proverbial "Ten Pound Pom". Bloody great value!
In 1961, I worked as a clerk for a timber firm in the docklands of Belfast ... which is where the Titanic was built. I spent most of the 1960s, on and off, in Northern Ireland. It was a very interesting experience! I came to Australia in January 1969. I developed a great liking for the Irish, their folk music ... and Guinness. Cheers!
