The random thoughts of Colin Hugh Abbott of Jarrahdale, Western Australia. For the most part, a light-hearted view of some of the aspects of this strange world.

Jarrahdale Fire bunker. Pipes being delivered. Feb/Mar, 2009.
Each of these reinforced concrete culverts/pipes weighs about two tonnes (they're certainly not going to be blown away in a cyclone or tornado/twister). All you need is one pipe, but I decided to have two delivered, because there was sufficient room to install them. The delivery guy was very helpful and went to a lot of trouble to position and align them correctly. It is necessary to cut out a trench (in order to stop the pipes rolling). The trench doesn't need to be very deep, just sufficient to anchor the pipes.
