John Bright Grammar School, Llandudno, North Wales: classmates circa 1959.

I took this photograph at the John Bright Grammar School sports day (I think it was 1959). I remember some of the names of the girls, but I might have it wrong. And I'm not too sure about the spelling. Sorry if I've got it wrong.

Top row, left to right: Christine Roberts; Hazel Orland-Jones; Anne ?; unknown.
Bottom row, left to right: Catherine Higton; Buddug Hughes; Elsbeth Tyndal.

I did have Elsbeth's email address but, unfortunately, I lost it. If any of you chance to see this post, it would be lovely to hear from you.

Incidentally, wouldn't that be the woodwork shed in the background? Remember the wonderful Woody Mallet? Woody was a very good cricketer - a wicketkeeper/ batsman.

Colin Hugh Abbott on route to Australia January 1969.

Colin Hugh Abbott driving (steering?) the Canberra to Australia in January 1969. They should have given me a medal. I was a proverbial "Ten Pound Pom". Bloody great value!

Colin Hugh Abbott , Kings Park, Perth, circa 2000.

Colin with his "nearly world famous" honkynut birdfeeders. They were dispatched to the four corners of the world. I was the sole manufacturer of these unusual and wonderful creations ... Pity it didn't make me lots of money!

Glenavon, Northern Ireland, circa 1965.

Colin Hugh Abbott going for goal at Mournview Park, Lurgan. Colin is the only one-legged footballer ever to have scored at this ground.

And, of course, Colin is very useful when it comes to one-legged arse-kicking contests - he's won lots of prizes!

Urinating AFL footballer and the eco-system?

Moral of the story: if you must take a stance in regard to emissions ... make sure you don't do it in front of a police station!

Scarborough, Western Australia, January 2008.

From left: Colin, son Justin, sister-in-law Pauline and brother Roy. NOW, they tell me, only nurds wear those croc shoes! Oh well, I never did have much sense of style...

THey used to call Paul McCartney a "mop-head". Looks like it's caught on with his solicitor!

Boring films

Geez! All the films I've seen recently have been boring. I had to sit through 'em twice - just to get my bloody money's worth!

Forbidden Fruit.

Today's lesson: if you can't resist the temptation to taste the forbidden fruit, at least have the decency to take it home in an eco-friendly carry bag!

Cricket and putting a shine on the balls.

Cricket is a funny game. You can put a shine on the ball, and that's fine. But, if you show too much of them ... you can get a $3,000 fine!

Bookies and the IPL Twenty20 cricket

I hear the bookmakers are moving in big time on the IPL Twenty20 cricket. I guess they're all hoping to boost their betting average!
